AngelBird AV PRO CFexpress Type B cards MK1 Review. They Compete!

Angelbird CFExpress Type B Cards have been a great card to use impressing me along the way more and more. The Angelbird CFExpress AV PRO Type B card version was released to compete for the Pro Consumers buying cameras like flagships and just under this rating for cameras like the R5 that need a CFExpress type B card at a fast speed to achieve fast photo frame rates. The price point of the Angelbird MK1 Type B card were reasonable with the CFExpress Type B Cards on the market. Recently the MK2 was released at better specs along with a better price point. Favorability is on the entry point cards especially with the SE and SX versions. With the high price points in the industry (at the time of this recording) these budget friendly prices give the opportunity for anyone to jump into a new cameras. The Angelbird CFExpress AV PRO Type B 1TB card is a photo and video card that can handle most camera’s witha minimum sustained speed of 1000MB/s. It is made for those professionals who require enough to get the job done. Angelbird does have a CFExpress XT type B card specific for professionals without a budget.

Angelbird AV PRO CFexpress SX Type B – 168GB Review. It’s Specific.

Angelbird CFExpress Type B Cards have been impressing and performing rather well. The Angelbird CFExpress Type B card SX version was released to compete for the entry consumers buying cameras like the R5 that need a CFExpress type B card at a fast speed to achieve fast photo frame rates. The price point is favourable with the Angelbird CFExpress Type B Cards especially with the SE and SX versions. With the high price points in the industry (at the time of this recording) these budget friendly prices give the opportunity for anyone to jump into a new cameras. The Angelbird CFExpress Type B 168 GB SX card is a photo centric first card. It is made for those photographer enthusiasts but still delivers on the photos. The space is not as big as the Pro versions but then again the price just makes it favorable for most.

You are not able to complete a shoot with the canon R5 if shooting at a high frame rate in RAW. You will need multiple cards. That being said, JPEG images will be great and one or two will do for a wedding. In my opinion however, if you have a high powered camera like an R5 or flag ship then RASW would be the way to go. Keep this in mind. Having a couple of these is a no brainer at this price point however.

SanDisk 512GB CFExpress Card vs AngelBird CFExpress Card

SanDisk CF Express Card could be a better card. It could be but it is not what we should expect it to be. When looking at the SanDisk CFExpress card vs the AngelBird CFExpress card we really do see a signifant difference where one can argue that SanDisk has dropped the ball. That being said, it is a good card overall, however, in my opinion not worth the money.

If you are thinking significant investment with this SanDisk CFExpress card, in my opinion, there are other manufacturers that can do better. The comparison with the AngelBird CFExpress card shows as some key differences with how cards are made, how they handle heat, and of course, how they will handle the higher end camarages. Flagships do need better and at this price point SanDisk just doesn’t cut it.

AngelBird has been a great company to deal with. The products they have released come at a good price point and allow the end user to get some better opportunity at utilizing the newer cameras and their features. The AngelBird SE is a must at it’s price point even if it is just a back up card. In most cases this will be the go to card. The AngelBird SX although attractive in nature is simple to small for the size of the images that these new camaras demand. The speed is great but lets be real, the size just will not cut it. The Pro MK2 will be tested soon as I have ordered them. I do believe they will be the go to card for most professionals.
